Welcome to the Website of Maria Teresa Ortiz-Naretto
I discovered my passion for art at the age of 9 when I painted my first oil on panel. A small house surrounded by snowy pine trees was the milestone that envisioned a career that later would have proved to have turning points. I remember with gratitude one of my first art teachers, Adriana Torregiani, who insisted in perfection of drawing and perspective as well as the fundamentals of color. Those days in her studio are more present than ever today because I have been trying to overcome the fears of an empty canvas with several of her teachings. After those days of my childhood, my academic background revolved around art history and philosophy. Those sources, along my restless mind, are the forces that makes me grab a pencil or a palette knife and put my emotions and queries into images.
